In Principal

The new school year has brought us a new principal. His name is Mr. Todd Willems and he is enjoying his new position.  Before coming to Messmer, Mr. Willems spent 8 years at Catholic Central High School in Burlington, Wisconsin, and 1 year at Durand High School in Durand, Wisconsin.
Mr. Willems visited Messmer last year to get a feel for the school and the students. He decided to take the position here for several reasons. He said, “Everyone in passionate about what they do,” and with excitement he added, “I wanted to be a part of that energy.” Mr. Willems has felt very welcomed by the faculty, staff, and students. On the first day of school when he was introduced to the student body the students clapped and cheered for him. He said, “I wasn’t prepared for the welcome, I had to gather myself.” Mr. Willems wants to build upon our school’s history and is still finding out what Messmer is all about. He has many goals for our school. He said if he could change one thing it would be to create more Mr. Fullwoods!

Having a great principal like Mr. Willems can help build our community. He is very determined, wise, and willing to learn. As a leader he will not only strengthen us individually but as a family. When referring to his own family as well as the Messmer community, Mr. Willems stated, “There is nothing more important to me than my families.” He has a beautiful wife Kate, and 2 children, Bennet who is 3 and Keaton, 1.

Welcome to the Messmer family, Mr. Willems!
